Captain EO returns

After much speculation over the months since Michael Jackson's death, Disney finally made it official that the King of Pop will be returning to Disneyland for a "limited engagement" starting in February.

Personally, I think this is a good idea. The current show in the Magic Eye Theater ("Honey, I Shrunk The Audience") has outlived its useful life. When we saw it last year, the theater was much less than half full, while the park in general was packed. Hopefully this blast from the past will provide some new enthusiasm to what has become, in my opinion, the area of the park that needs the most updating. Hopefully, Disney is / will be working on a new show experience worthy of "the future" for this space, once Captain EO retires for the 2nd time. In combination with an updated Star Tours, this would provide much reason for hope of a renewal of Tomorrowland.

So, what do you think? Will the chance to once again watch (or watch for the first time) Captian EO, Hooter, and the rest of his motley crew "change the world" cause you to try to make a special trip to Disneyland?

Oh, and one more FYI: Speaking of Disneyland homecomings, Mr. Lincoln is returning to the stage in the Opera House as of today.

To answer your question, yes! Captain EO was so amazing! I loved it! I definitely want to see it again before it's gone. And I agree with you, Tomorrowland needs some updating. Don't you think a Wall-E ride would be perfect in Tomorrowland? As far as Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln are concerned? Pass. I think the First 50 Years movie was great, they shouldn't have taken it out. Seeing Mr. Lincoln would be, in my opinion, time wasted that could be spent on rides, attractions, eating, shopping, walking around, or anything else. Great post, thanks.

Something Wall-E would be perfect for Tomorrowland! I hope they also do something with the old Peoplemover tracks (like bring it back!). As for old Honest Abe, I don't mind him being back. Its been a loooong time since I've seen him in the Opera House, and I would like to have a seat in the middle of a busy afternoon and hear what he has to say. I think its very appropriate for Main Street USA to have our greatest President in history give us a reminder of our patriotic duty... OK, off my soapbox, and yes I also loved the 50th anniversary movie. Gladly, you can still catch the show with Steve Martin and Donald Duck on a small screen in a corner of the lobby.

It has been so long since I saw Captain EO that I almost don't remember it. As for tomorrow land being updated I THOROUGHLY AGREE. A Wall-E ride would be fantastic.
